We had a great time documenting recording with the whole band and producer Pete Steinkopf at Little Eden in Asbury Park. If you haven't already done it, go grab your copy of his incredible new record - it's up for pre-order now with three colored vinyl variants at Bandcamp and on CD/Digital at Stomp Records!
We've been documenting the recording of the third LP from New Jersey artist Sammy Kay at Little Eden in Asbury Park with Pete Steinkopf of The Bouncing Souls.
Here's a a great short moment spotlighting what really goes into making a record - talent, dedication, and hard work.
My most recent gallery show, NO MORE ASBURY PARK, is now available to view online. NO MORE ASBURY PARK features landscape & architectural photographs of Asbury Park, NJ circa 2005-2008, and recent portraiture featuring eleven people who saw the city for more than empty streets and abandoned buildings - but a space to create.
NO MORE ASBURY PARK was originally exhibited at Hotel Tides in October of 2013. To view the project, please click the image above.
Hard to believe it's a few years now but one August morning back in 2013, I joined Kate Hiltz & Zak Kaplan of Chunksaah Records and Pete Steinkopf & Bryan Kienlen of the Bouncing Souls for a blueberry pancake breakfast on the label's front porch. The lead photo was featured in my show NO MORE ASBURY PARK, but here's some outtakes from the shoot that have never been published before. Also, at some point a set of Clackers appeared....
NERD TALK: these were all shot with a Canon 7D & 16-35mm @ f5.6 with the "Neutral" picture style setting. RAW processing was done in Adobe Lightroom while a custom B&W conversion & finishing was done in Nik Collection Silver Efex Pro 2.
